How To Remove Door Panel 2002 Ford Expedition

So this door started with a problem with the child prophylactic lock. It wouldn't undo then that you could open the door from the inside. Yous could just open up the door from the outside. Now, the door will not open from the outside so it is only stuck shut and I can't do anything with it.

Do I demand to remove the door panel somehow? Neither the inside or outside handles are floppy. All the linkage is still intact - I'yard about 99% sure information technology'south something to do with the child safety lock existence stuck and it has restricted the motion of both of the handles.

Yous need to remove the door panel from the within and reach in to open the door.

You tin can remove the rear passenger door panels while the doors are closed, guess the service manual does not cover that.

Use a flashlight to locate the ii screws holding the lower panel in identify, betwixt the sill plate and bottom door panel, unscrew them.
Hither is one , red arrow

Remove the ruby-red reflector to remove spiral within
Remove the switch panel and disconnect wiring
Remove the inner door handle
Lift up on door panel an remove.

Bank check the rods to make sure there not bent, if they are, straighten them out, check what ever you need to.

Use a flashlight to locate the two screws belongings the lower panel in place, between the sill plate and lesser door panel, unscrew them.

Remove the blood-red reflector to remove spiral inside
Remove the switch panel and disconnect wiring
Remove the inner door handle
Lift upwards on door panel an remove.

Cheque the rods to make sure there not bent, if they are, straighten them out, check what ever you need to.

That lesser screw I tin't get to because the door is shut and the dorsum seat is in the way.

You tin can get to the bottom screws with door shut, in that location is plenty gap between the sill plate and the door panel to meet the screws and remove.

The seats should not exist in the style unless your trying to use a spiral commuter a foot long,

I simply double checked on mine, i can become to both screws and remove easy

As the op stated he can't go to his rear spiral NOW imagine how hard iy would be if the seat was down

Side by side time post a pic with the door airtight and bear witness both screws
